Anyone try one of these tool boxes from Pilot Knob Rest?

Considering ordering one of these today, wondering if these are remakes of the Heisler tool boxes or a custom design. Back connects to light bar, front hangs from steering shaft.

Please explain to me advantages of having the weight of that tool box hanging on the eteering shaft which would cause uneeded wear on the shaft and make the tractor harder to steer. I fail to understand the logic of that design. Also if you had a heat houser on that tractor you would be unable to access the tool box. Armand

I'll bet they are a repro.Have never seen an original.I would immagine the quality is pretty good.Go ahead and buy one and give us the 'report'! Steve

I've got all my heavy tools and spare parts in a frame rail tool box, just need a place to keep a Ham Sammich and a soda.

I've also put on a Donaldson pre-cleaner and a stainless muffler for no good reason.

I'm thinking about designing a hydraulic suspension so that it it'll be a low-rider Farmall that I can make hop in parades.

In re gards to the design, remember that IH engineers designed the H and M to last 8 years! I wonder what they would think now with so many still being used!

I have a lightbar box on my SH. REAL handy for the soda/coffee,lunch,billfold,cellphone.....I need a framerail box. There is so much other 'crap',there is no room for tools!LOL Steve

I dont have that tool box. But have gotten a lot, lot, of stuff from them. They are one of the best in the business for repro stuff. It fits right the first time. I have no complaints with anything i have recieved from them. Re-done a Farmall B and a Super M using thier parts. Good people to work with. My 2 cents. And no I dont work for them. Just a very pleased customer.

Just ordered it, $110, price hadn't gone up from my 2010 catalog. Not sure who I would have talked to, Ron, maybe Andy. He said it is a reproduction of the heisler tool box.

I live about 45 miles from Pilot Knob, bought some parts from him twice and drove over and picked them up once. The parts were all nice but that guy lives in a beautiful spot over looking the Mississippi river, amazing view.
