Farmall H with M W 9 speed

We have recently traded for a Farmall H with an M & W 9 speed transmission. The tractor is in really good shape. I was wondering how rare the 9 speed transmission is and about what the tractor was worth. We may consider selling it. Thanks

I have both a Farmall H and M with Heisler 9 speeds and that certainly makes a very useable tractor with the added speed ranges. As far as added value I would guess something like $500 on top of whatever the value would be without one but they aren't all that rare especially with the M&W one as that cable assembly is a weak link I believe. Why not keep it and get to really like it if everything else is in good condition, Hal.

Nothing really rare about them at all. I don't see where there is any advantage to be had by having a 9 speed. No one uses an H to do commercial farming where speeed is of the essence. If anything having it may be a deteriment to selling it because if it breaks , no parts are available.

i dont think their rare, but i think they are worth having. their handy for raking hay or i like mine for traveling on dirt roads along crops where 5th is to fast and 4th is to slow. just my 2 cents worth.
