Lightbar-to-steering shaft tool box and seat question

Decided I"d prefer one of the tool boxes that go front to back, connecting to the light bar in the rear and hanging from the steering shaft in the front. Does anyone know a source for these boxes?

I needed a new seat pan for Darrel Darst to cover so picked one up and it came with a pipe seat base. I see a good deal on a Monroe spring/shock seat on ebay. How much better does the Monroe ride in comparison to the pipe seat? My aftermarket base and pipe seat base all have flip back pans, did the Monroe come with a fip back pan option? I only see pictures of the 4 bolt seats.

Our club is restoring a Farmall H as a project tractor, I"ve looked over the operator platform, and there is 4 bolt holes for mount the seat. My platform has 6 bolt holes. 4 are currently used for the seat and 2 more directly behind them were just open threaded holes, I put bolts in them to keep water and dirt out. Is this an older platform cover or did someone drill and tap for some custom application?

Yooper,
You can get a light-bar toolbox from this website; go to "tractor parts" upper left column.
Priced at $112.00, pricey but I have one and it is handy for misc stuff. I have ordered other items from this site, and always very pleased with quality and quick service.

The extra bolt holes are so us long-legged folks can move the seat assembly back.
I installed one of those toolboxes, fits good, the top pivots back-to-forwards. I thought about moving the whole thing around so it would pivot front-to-back, and I think it would work..... I think.

Not looking for the typical light bar tool box that runs side-to-side and connects directly to the light bar. Looking for one that runs front-to-back where the back would connect to the light bar and the front hangs out over the fuel tank and is suspended from the steering shaft.

I'm wondering why the other H tractors I have seen only have 4 bolt holes in their operator platform, when mine has 6 bolt holes.

I don't know of anyone who builds that style of toolbox for the aftermarket. Maybe you could build one?

The Monroe style seat with the conical spring and shockabsorber is a HUGE improvement over the original pipe frame seat. That is why 99% of the Farmall Hs you see already have the Monroe seat.

The toolbox you describe was made by Heisler. I have one that I bought at a farm sale some time ago. About a year ago I saw one sell on ebay for over $200...

I doubt anyone is reproducing them, I know I have never seen any new ones for sale. Until I saw the one on ebay I had never seen a toolbox like it before and then I confirmed that it was made by Heisler when I asked an IHC collector friend of mine and he sent me this scan from his Heisler catalog.
