560 low oil preasure

hi i have a 560 gas row crop just overhauled new rod bearings and maines plus a new oil pump it has 15 to 20 pounds at a idle warm i dont know about the cam bearings runs good no knocks and we shimed the spring on the oil filter base the oil pres at 1800 rpm runs 50 psi what should it run is there any thing else i can do thanks ih54

Specifications call for 30 - 40 psi @ 1800 RPM.
 
If you are using 10-30 oil that would be very normal. If 15-40 (what I would use, and recommended by many here on this site) it might be higher. Were the cam bearings replaced? Jim
 
If you rebuild you REBUILD and that means NEW CAM BEARINGS and have the Crank CHECKED for ware and reground if needed and SHIMMING of pressure relief springs is NOT a way of fixing a problem . And before you lube up the breaings and stuff pistons and rods to it myself i will install the crank and mains and PLASTA GAUGE and check FIRST for proper clearance and if that checks out then we start . JUST because it had STD bearings in it when you tore it down does NOT mean that your good to go with STD bearings this time.
