Frame rail removal

I need to remove my frame rails on 53 SM. Has wide front. Looking at it I am thinking I can remove one at a time safely? Am I correct in this assumption. Just pulling to complete the cleaning and restoring of the insides. Thank you for your advice.

I'm glad you asked this question, as I need to do the same thing. The Colby 560 project a while back had pictures of this very thing, and I was hoping to do my Super MD the same way. Mine's narrow front.

I did it with my 450, but be sure to put jackstands or blocks under each part, and yes, be sure that the rear, and front, wheels are chocked so that they can't possibly move.

Thanks for the info fellas. First one came right off. Now to clean/prime and paint and on to the other side. Hope to have this finished for Red Power. Short term project...7 years!
