Hello,

I am in the process of pulling a M&W pump apart for a Farmall M. Does anybody have a manual for something like this they could email me. It would help a lot to understand it a little better before I go any further and when I have to assemble it again. Any help would be Appreciated.

Thanks

lets try that again

As I racall M. @ W. live hydraulic kits had aluminum housings for the pumps and valve assy. instead of cast iron housings and the aluminum wore quicker than the cast iron pumps and valves. There fore the housings are wore to the point that a repair kit will not hold. The only answer is new cast iron pumps and valve. The cast iron pump and valve assy. should still be avialable maby through Case IH. Good luck and let us know what you end up with. Armand

Hello
Yeah anything that shows me a layout of the pump and gives me information on parts and how to pull it apart and get it back together correctly. Again never worked on these before. Thanks for the info so far.

If it helps to be encouraging about it, hydraulic pumps from that era are generally pretty simple, just two shafts, two gears, and a bunch of gaskets, orings, and seals. The blowup diagram of the M&W above shows that's pretty much true.

Those pumps are prety simple BUT you still have to consider the condition of the casing. If the casing is wore a rebuild kit WILL NOT last and you will need to replace the pump and/or the valve. Been there/done that on both farm tractors and trucks with aluminum pumps and/or valves. Cast iron housings will last longer. By the way what are the problems with your hyd. system and does it have aluminum or cast iron housings? Armand
