could be a steering gear that has teeth all the way around it. then you can turn the front wheels 360 degrees. my MTA is that way.

Then your stop bolt is missing or broken

I learned by accident on my 450, that the front wheels can be installed facing the wrong way. The only way that that would work would be if the tractor is used under a cotton picker, which of course, drives backwards. We actually had two M's with cotton pickers on them, and the "steerable" wheel(s) face that way to make them easier to steer. Does it have the flanges on the rear axles that allow for mounting the direction-reverser gears used on cotton pickers? P.S., don't make that M wear yellow!

Years ago when those tractors were new they turned the wheels around. It was to keep them from filling with mud and sliding instead of turning. Dad did it to our AC C until one wheel hit a rock and spun the steering wheel. His thumb looked kind of funny bent backwards. Sprained his wrist bad.

It also has 8 spoke wheels (with yellow double bevel rims?) instead of 6 spokes & drop center rims.

How does it drive with the front wheels toed- out instead of toed-in?

Arranging the pedestal like this results in negative caster in the front end. Those wheels will try their dead level best to spin themselves back around when you're driving forward, just like a shopping cart wheel does.

I would turn that front around before you have that steering wheel jerking. Rear hubs are off a numbered series tractor like the 300 or later.
