My neighbor asked me what could be wrong with a fence row 3288 that stopped moving under it's own power. What type trans does a 3288 have?? Thanks,Jim

It is similar to a 986. It has an electric shift T/A and hydraulic trans brake.

From the clutch face, to the final drives, any broken or non shifting part can cause that symptom.
Moving the tractor and diagnosis is the only solution. Someone may have an answer like Pull the cover off of the XYZ case and put in a new Blah blah, but on site diagnosis is really it. Jim
