460 heavy tillage gear question

A Farmall 460 with the serial number plate ending in CC means it
has 3rd speed heavy tillage gear.

Now in my 460-560 Operators manual, it doesn't even list that
as a option for 460.
It does however list it for the 560 AND also lists a 4th speed
heavy tillage gear, BUT it doesn't list the 4th gear as a different
serial number code.

My question is, if you do have the CC code, do you have BOTH
3rd and 4th speed heavy tillage gears?
or just 3rd speed heavy tillage gear?

Again they don't list a code just for "4th speed heavy tillage gear"

THANKS!

ive got a 560D and its stamped CC and i was under the impression that gear set was both 3rd and 4th gear. but to be sure im gonna go dig out my book and look again

my book doesnt do much good. its for the 460 560 660 diesels. the speed chart for the 460D doesnt even show the tillage gear speeds at all. the 560 chart however does and it shows 3rd AND 4th gear are different from the standard speed transmission.

is your 460 a gasser? dont know if it even makes a difference :?

In a 460 3rd speed is the only one changed for a CC code. CC code has a 38 tooth gear on the countershaft turning a 43 tooth gear on the top shaft. 2nd and 3rd sliding gear on the top shaft is a one piece gear so when its used in a CC code the 3rd side is changed but 2nd size remains the same. Standard gear sizes are 40 bottom shaft and 41 top shaft. Same as 300 and 350 tractors.

I did find out from the guys on "Red Power" that 460's only offered a 3rd speed tillage gear.
560's offered both speed tillage gears 3rd and 4th.

Thanks for the responses!
