Is this a original 3 point hitch

Can anyone tell me what I have.The 140 serial# is 65q56jkk.It was purchased Sept. 17,1981.I am not sure how to attach the fast hitch to make the 3 point work.The tractor powered a buss saw or cut off saw.Thanks!

The "q" is probably a 9. IH didn't use letters in their serial numbers.

65956 makes it a LATE 1979 model. That is the last year IH made the 140.

It is probably a tractor that the dealer "stockpiled" when IH announced that the 140 was discontinued. Many dealers in tobacco/vegetable country stockpiled 140's and sold them for a couple more years.

Yours may very well be one of the very last 140's ever made.

Beyond that you will need to explain yourself better. Do you have fast hitch or 3pt hitch? They are mutually exclusive. You can have one or the other. Fast hitch is factory. 3pt hitch would be aftermarket.

What are you trying to achieve? Are you trying to hook up an implement? With fast hitch you just insert the point into the socket, and latch it closed.
