It is my understanding that the round knob on the brake lever was an indicator of a later model. Did you have any luck finding the engine or frame rail numbers?

is there anyone around that might have a donor tractor around that they would want to part with? im thinking it would cost wayyyy to much$$$$$ to redo this one from where its at with new parts? or is it not worth parting another tractor out for just a serial # ? thanks for the information thus far.

if you dont feel liek trying to tackle that project i have parts for it as well and would buy it for my collection if you want to part with it

i do want to restore the tractor i have established a good shop in last couple years and have the abilities to work on tractors a lot more than i use to i would really like to find a complete donor tractor and just use it to restore mine with, i have restored tractors this rough lately and enjoy the challenges in it, do you have a donor tractor to sell by chance? thank you

D21, here is reality. You are VERY unlikely to find a donor tractor. Your's is early and not common to begin with. You WILL find parts.......over time. I think it is pretty cool that you want to restore it, but you are going to have to be patient. Also, be prepared, those early, correct parts are NOT cheap........did I mention the correct parts are NOT cheap?

Seriously, if you want to restore this, good for you. start slow, and work your way through it. This will not be a 2 month rebuild/restore. In fact, as you progress and get closer to a running specimin, you may end up having to use some later parts until you can get the right ones.

I have been wrenching on tractors, engines, cars, trucks for over 45 years. I can tell you that there are certain things I have been looking for that literally took me 2-3 years to find. Patience. Ask questions here. Cowman, Old-F20 and many others here can help guide you and help you find parts.

God's speed John Glenn.....................
