What kind of a Loader is this? Any pro's, or con's?

Pros:
It's better than a pitchfork or shovel.

Cons:
Limited lift height.
Slow lift speed.
Trip bucket.
Narrow bucket doesn't cover the tracks of the rear wheels, so you can't plow snow or scoop up something along to a wall.
Can't install a wide front.

Super Six feature bucket always stays level at all heights. We had one on the M also had the 7ft snow blade and was used a lot as we lived on a 1/4mi lane and had two other barns away from main buildings so snow removing was very important. Loader cleaned out many barns over time built good fast lift ect.

You just described 99% of the loaders from that era. So what's your point?

Just how high do you need to go. Why does it have to be fast. Its a manure loader so you trip the bucket into the spreader. If you want a wide bucket put one on and we got stuff done without wide front they dont turn short anyway.

Not to hyjack this thread, but since we are talking about manure loaders, I might as well post a few pics of mine on the A..

Well a good pro is you can pick stuff up and put it down....haha.
I dont have the loader on now, but when I get my 140 all running good, its going on there.

Again, he ASKED for pros and cons.

Of course because I named cons, I'm badmouthing it and saying it's no good and should be scrapped, right?

It's called being realistic. It's called making an educated decision. Maybe he wants to do more than scoop manure into a spreader. Maybe he wants to add a wide front to the tractor some day because he thinks its cool. Maybe he's impatient and the loader being slow will drive him off the deep end.

If he likes it because its cool, and doesn't mind the limitations, he can get are really good deal. If he's looking for the capabilities of a modern full-hydraulic loader he will be disappointed.

No, just looking for one for occasional usage, was needing to know how high they lift. I would like to have one for my H, and this one is for sale around here. I just had never been around one of these, always around a Freeman, or the old IH tube type frame loader.

Go for it. I've got a McCormick #31 on an H. It will do everything I need it to do. I'll admit the more modern loaders are better, and if I needed a loader for everyday livestock feeding and other chores, I would have a more modern loader, but I would also have a much more up-to-date tractor to put it on.
