FarmerJohn, "Reconditioned" can mean a lot of different things.

What exactly was done to the head? New valves?
Hardened Valve seats? Any testing for cracks etc.

What part of PA are you in?

Recondition heads for those tractors go for 300 or so as the new valves are 7 ea then new seats ready to run. A good machine shop will charge that much or more.

I agree with Gene. I think I paid $350 for one a few years back.
