I've did one once by drilling out the rivot heads. Just take your time and center punch the rivot head and start with a small drill bit.
 
You have a couple options. Tape over or drill the rivets like the guys above have mentioned. Be carefully drilling, you'll hit coolant if you go too deep.

Or you can try this... Take a thin putty knife and cut a "V" in it with a cut off wheel. Drive it behind the plate with the cut around the rivet. The take additional putty knives and drive behind the first to slowly walk the plate and rivets out.
