IH part No's

Is there any way of finding out what a part is by the no? I have to NOS springs with the tag on them, probably from the 40"s don"t know what they are for. I think the No is 450662-R1

This isn't confirmation of the highest degree but I have an IHC cross reference manual no. 19-XPC titled "Index of part numbers listed in crawler tractor, wheel tractor, power unit and engine parts catalogs" with a 1951 print date. There are several six digit part numbers listed starting with 450 (however, 450662R1 is not among those listed) but all of those listed are referred to part catalog TC-40 for useage applications. TC-40 is the parts catalog for the International A Tractor No. 18 Highway Mower. I am thinking that part no. series 450XXX was allocated to that equipment as the other close numbers all refer to TC-40 for their application. Hope this is of some help, Hal.

Case IH has a parts lookup on their website: http://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-search.htm

So does Messick's
http://www.external_link/CaseParts.aspx

Both stores have a way to search by part number for applications.
