you took it off at the wrong place. that brass fitting stays in pump and does not go with guage. i am not sure on the brass fitting , as never removed one to know whats behind it.can you remove the housing to remove the broken piece if it is indeed broken as i think just screw that one back in and try it to see if you get pressure on the guage. |

| | It might not be visible in the pics, but the threads sheared half off and came out in pieces. It was leaking and I attempted to tighten it.....bad idea. Looked to me like it had be cracked and I finished it off. So do I have to have that? Chuck |

| i see. i kind of think dont need the exact fitting. should be able to put a 1/4 npt hyd. fitting like that but just make sure the male part of brass fitting is indeed 1/4 npt. after studying that brass fitting i think that is just a built in valve so that when the guage is removed it dont drain the system and allow air in. my thoughts though. |

| | Might attempt to clean up the remaining threads, put a very small amount of thread tape on it and try to put it back on the pump. Chuck |

| FYI, I know that it didn't have to be removed, but it came off in my hand that way.........Would have preferred to just replace the gauge...... |
