Slight Miss in 300

I have a "New to Me "300. When trying it out after getting it home. Noticed it has a slight miss when putting it under load, like up a hill in 5th. I have put in new points and condensor, plugs, Rotor, cap and wires. Changed the oil. Looking at carburator I can see no screws have been touched in a long while. Hard to say if it is a miss or sputter. Should i look at carburator next? Accelerates fine and does low idle and quick rev up, no problem.

[b:5281f8d260]I had the same problem with mine after I got it. The problem was in the carb. Probably a chunk of crud from the gas tank went through. A few gentle taps on the carb and a good run cleared it up. Hopefully you can be as lucky as I was.

Drain the tank or run all the old gas out, it probably has a bit of condensation built up. Replace with a full tank of fresh gas.

If the new gas doesn't do it, open the main jet on the carb bowl out a turn & a half ( counter clockwise). If it blows a bit of black smoke under load you are close on the main setting. You want the main jet out as far as possible with little to no black smoke under load at full rpm.

my slight miss became a bad intake manifold gasket, waiting for a new gasket set now. I haven't plowed snow yet :(
