M head stud update

thank you all who contributed information on how to remove stuck head studs. I heated the stud with a butane torch, then tapped the stud with a hammer then let em cool, I did use the wax method! fellas, they came right out with a small pipe wrench! i did one at a time, heated the stud only just till i seen a lil smoke,, then hit it with the candle wax then let it cool. worked like a charm! thank you.

Did you drip the wax on the stud/base or did you just melt the candle onto the stud?

Good deal ! That candle wax trick is an oldie but goodie. Heat is the key most times with rust I have found.

the block was on a stand. quick flip of the block n hit the holes from underneath. let it sit n wax seemed to seep down in the threads. wasnt a real bad stuck,,, just,, stuck,, from last time it was worked on in the early 80s. head studs stuck,,, not the motor.
