what is the difference between the 2? will one for a 140 work on a cub? i have one for my cub but it has some wear and doesnt sink into the groud but about halfway, even after trying numerous different adjustments including reading the manual for the plow lol thinking the point is just too worn to make it bite, just wondering if one from a 140 would work, they look about the sam in the pics, but you all know how a pic can be deceiving, but i know a 140 is a newer version of a A, so im thinking there must be something way different about it

The plows are different, 140 plows are too big for the cub. Do you have the control on your drawbar to tilt the plow? There should be a lever , usually mounted on the right side, that will tilt the front of the drawbar down. So that the point of the plow is pointed down toward the ground. this gets the plow started in the ground and has to be adjusted after starting, or it will start heading for China.
If you do not have that control to tilt the drawbar the plow will not dig in. Also you have to make sure that the hitch goes down far enough to let the plow go deep enough.

I don't think the plows are the same. My cub plow was doing the same, just wouldn't suck in. Someone suggested building up the point, which I did by cutting a piece of old truck leaf spring, and welding it on to the point. Worked like a charm. I need to take a picture of it to post, but it's currently under about a foot of snow...

Side-by-side, the Cub plow will be a "mini-me" version of the 140 plow. Same basic design, but lower and shorter, with a narrower cutting width.

This is true of the Fast Hitch version, and the mounted version.

Primary difference is the beam. The Cub FH plow will have "CUB" stamped into the beam,at the rear, under the number stamped in the beam. You"ll note also a "Kink" or very slight bend in the Cub version, while the version used with the larger FH tractors had a straight beam.I"ve had some Cub FH plows with a 16" botton, much too large for a Cub to pull,in our central Maryland soils a 12" bottom was plenty for a Cub to handle, the larger 100-140"s would handle the 16" bottom much better. You do have the hitch bail lowered all the way, right? That would affect plow "Suck",also, like some of the guys said,a dull share will also cause the plow not to go into the ground. You also have offset the drawbar all the way to the right, haven"t you?? Likely all the way to the right, why you"ll see three holes in the hitch bail. A manual may also be helpful,of course. Use Cub-194 plow as a reference.

thanks guys i do have the original plow manual which came with the tractor, it was a 1 owner, as well as the handle ect to drop the drawbar down, it will suck down to about halfway up the moldboard and ride about there i believe it should pull down farther in the ground, am i wrong? after looking my plow is the 194 for the cub, previous owner said they bought 2 tractors new, and my front snow plow and rear plow came new with the tractor, the other tractor had a mower on it and still belongs to the mans brother, just trying to figure this out
