766 gas to a Diesel change over

Has anyone ever switched from a 291 gas to a 360-414 Diesel? If so, what all has to be changed in order for this to be a good working tractor again? Thanks

A friend of mine has changed a 706 gas to a 466 from a combine. I can give you his number if you want.

If it is a good, working tractor now, I would leave it alone.

Just to do the basic mount-up in the frame, you need:

tractor flywheel
clutch
pressure plate
front engine cover
rear engine plate
oil filter base
manifolds

Then you need to figure out fuel lines, radiator, throttle linkage, oil pressure, alternator, engine temperature, tachometer, exhaust hole in hood. One dilemma is you have a choice of either having a fuel gauge or a return line for the injector pump.
