Correct me if I'm wrong

Did the first 39 M have flat spoke rear wheels or were they all cast centers. I thought the very first ones used rear wheels some what like the F20 or F30 but I have a friend that says all the 39 M had cast center rear wheels. I'm not trying to win a argument. I'm just curious. Thanks Gerald

I am pretty sure they were all cast center wheels. Over the years they have become like Johnny Cash tractors. Parts get switched , just to have a functional tractor. I have seen them on steel, on cut offs and on cats centers. Heck I even had one on 36" rubber years ago.

Rubber tires with spoked wheels are "cutoffs." The steel wheel's rim and traction lugs were cut off and a rubber tire rim was welded on in place.

IF the tractor came with rubber from the factory, it would have cast wheels.

the early cast center hubs for rubber tires are the six spoke ones like all the later ones. the '39 ones were a little lighter and the slot for the drive lug on the rim is cast flat to the edge not rounded like the later ones. the '39 h and m's on steel had wheels that looked like f-14 wheels. later the steel wheel centers had a large casting and axle clamps like the rubber tired tractors. hope this helps. by the way all '39s came with 36"rims.

The fact that it could have cut offs makes sense. I never gave that a thought but I'd bet that it came with steel & someone cut them off & added rubber. Thanks again Gerald
