Farmall 560 Restoration progress with pictures

I'm helping restore and paint a 560 over my christmas break. Here's some pictures.

Looking really nice and looks like a wonderful work site you have available for your restoration. I would really caution you about those cement blocks as I would never use them for blocking - wood is so much safer and just as plentiful even if it costs a little more initially. Stay safe and keep the photos coming, Hal.

I noticed that as well and still feel concrete or cinder blocks are unpredictable when used as blocking. A 560 is a large and heavy tractor to begin with which requires attention to very safe practices. I have found large wood blocks easy to find at almost any new building site and have more then enough (per the wife) stacked in the shop when needed. There are no "do-overs" when one breaks and you are beneath a tractor and I'm just trying to emphasize safety when involved in restorations, Hal.

Looks nice so far.

I painted this summer with both doors open on the shop and had more overspray on the floor (and everything else) than you have. How do you manage that?

I have to agree Hal. Either wood blocks or jack stands are the way I usually go. SHOULD hold isn't good enough for me if I have a few thousand pounds sitting over me!

I guess I got lucky with overspray. Lots of stuff in MY shop is covered. But then again i've painted alot more stuff in there. The cinder blocks were set up that way when I got there and they seemed pretty sturdy. Nothing is a guaruntee. Jack stands come loose too.
