BATTERY CUTOFF LAST POST

Thanks for the ideas. I was trying to come up with an easy way to install cutoffs outside the battery box and since my tractors are grounded inside the box the only way is to add the cutoff on the hot cable. I now think the best way is just to disconnect the cable at the starter. Thanks again.

In the long run and yes I know a pain but removing the cable off the battery is the best way. Doing it at the starter can cause a problem with the stud working loose and then causing internal problems with the starter plus that stud being brass an soft is likely to wear and then in then cause problems

I've got a cutoff mounted directly to the starter saddle switch input stud on my Super M. A simple twist of the knob connects/disconnects the battery.

I paid about $5 for it at a steam show flea market.

Had one of those on my 8N ford at one time and it got to be such a pain in the back sides I threw it away and went back to pulling the battery cable off

If you unbolt the end at the starter, you have to be very careful about protecting the end of that cable. If it accidentally comes in contact with the frame, you will have all kinds of fireworks in a very big hurry!
