I am going to rebuild my generator because it does not seem to be supplying constant power to the regulator to power the contacts always, therefore draining the battery. I want to change the belt at the same time but it is behind the fan belt. Can I just remove the fan to do this? the lower pully goes to the hyd.pump so removing it does not look likr the right option.Do I have to remove the rad to get the fan and pulley off?
Thanks, Tim.

Hi, on the ag B414 model, we would loosen the fan pulley a few turns then wedge then gen belt under the fan belt and with the fuel shut off on a Diesel, turn engine with starter until gen belt goes under fan belt on fan pulley. Then work gen belt off over one fan blade at a time. Re-install by reversing procedure.
DON'T get your fingers caught between fan pulley and belt.
