Hello all I have a 44 H and on this week I bought gas from a truck stop (only place that was open on CHRISTMAS day) to put in the H to move the snow that we had got today :( well any way the wind died down so I got busy plowing snow . I got my drive done so I went down the road to plow out the neibour lady the darn tractor stalled out. got it back running went to move stalled .maybe I"d better head back home stalled 3 times on the road got home back in the barn. Took off the heat houser and got to looking coil not hot, got gas ,have spark. DId I get water in the gas that I just got I never got gas at the truck stop before. Like I said I have a heat houser on and a plastic bottle cut to help cover the dist.cap and coil to help keep water-snow OFF THINGS?????

| Those pesky Gas-bugs have been man's culmination of consternation for over a century..........
Check with your Green tractor "buddies", they are notorious for this sort of thing at shows.....never let your tractor out of your sight.....
Seriously, someone thought it was funny.....

| | Hi. If you think the carb is icing which what I think the problem is. Try bring some warm air into the air cleaner. This should pretty easy as you have said you have a heater houser on your tractor. Take piece of flexable exhaust pipe or hose, put one end on the air cleaner inlet and put the out end under the heat houser along side to engine. This will warm up the air going into the carb. I have done this one other engines that had carb icing issues. Good Luck Cheers Russ

| If you did get some water, it should get trapped in the sediment bowl and never cause any problems. Of course you will need to clean the sediment bowl, but you should be doing that periodically anyhow.
I'd rather think you have a loose electrical connection somewhere, or possibly a faulty ignition switch. Possibly a wire is rubbing somewhere and has worn the insulation off and is sporadically shorting out?

| I would agree with the others that it is electrical if pulling the choke out does not help. It is probably moisture getting into the electrical system.

| The fuel probably has some ethanol in it. Water is possible, but the tractor (if it just stalled without sputtering) might be having an electrical issue. If it did sputter and die slowly, it could be carb icing. Especially if it was at or near freezing. Carb icing is pretty common and the humidity in the air freezes in the carb, restricting and flooding it as it seems to choke out. It will restart because the warmth of running melts the ice. Jim

| Take a flashlight and take a look in the bottom of fuel tank. Had farmall B that did that and it had something floating around in bottom of tank tank.

| d beatty is the winner!!!! I looked in the tank today and guess what !!! a d@mn bug was floating in the gas thinking that the bug would get sucked down in to the sed. bowl and block it off then would refloat!!!!!!!!so I fixed that --took off the gas line with a piece of tin like a rain gutter under the sed. bowlI removed the sed bowl assby. and drained the gas tank out the sed bowl hole that flushed out the bug-rust ....NOW HOW DID A D@MN BUG GET IN THERE???

| If you take the assby. out of tank they make a screen that will go top of assby. and will stop floating objects from plugging hole. Those screens use to cost about $7.50 .

| Yeah, if pulling the choke out does not help I'd guess electrical. You say you have it covered up but is moisture still getting in? I'd pull the cap and look inside.
