Got a gas 574 ih tractor. Dead since the block has a cracked bore. Bought a 584 diesel burnt figured thats a good engine to replace the gas one with. Got the two tractors apart and find the front bolster from the gas tractor doesnt fit the diesel engine. Fun project just got funner. Lol. Now i need to find a diesel tractor to get the bolster off of so i can put the front of the tractor together. Wonder what other surprises i find before this project gets going. Going to call this one frank :)
 
I dont know what to ask i have never sold one.Give me an offer. Im in south western ontario about 2 hours from the border you can email me for more information.But maybe Phil is closer to you and he has a complete engine.
 
It doesnt fit my 574. The hood wont fit. And the radiator is
different. So i need one of those also. The gas motor ran good
until you put coolant in it. I could have put another gas motor
in it but gas tractors around here are not worth much and
besides, i like a challenge. Haha.

Those Germany diesel motors are fantastic. Since you already own it, I would certainly find the parts required to make it work. I admit that I believe that all tractors should be diesel except the letter series Farmalls so I admit my prejudice! The harder you work the German diesels, the better they work. You can't just idle them around for days on end.
