Super M trans

This winter I need to put some bearings in the transmission of my Super M. What are your thoughts of putting hy-trans in it instead of the regular gear lube When I put it back together?

There are two reasons to consider not doing it. The first is that the trans will make more noise.
The second is that it will leak more profusely.
It is a high pressure lube and would work fine other than that. Jim

There is no advantage to Hytran, only the disadvantages that Jim mentioned. I use 85W140 in my non-TA tractors.

If its used in colder temp always I would suggest mixing 1/2 85w140 & 1/2 Hytran.

It will be used mostly in the summer so I think I will stick with the 85-140.

Advantage is you don't need eight different oils around.

3 oils--15W40, Hytran for my 1 TA tractor and hydraulics for the rest, 85W140 for transmissions in the non-TA tractors -- simple.
