Farmall A Transmission joiner

Replace the rubber bushings on the transmission shaft joiner on my Farmall A. How tight should I tighten the bolts? Did no want to overtighten and not allow the joiner to flex.

Tapered bolt fits into the cast yolk & cannot overtighten the rubber bushing. Tighten away.

Well the ones I have messed with had lock nuts on them which you should replace and use new ones and then what ever size the bolts are then use the torque table for that size bolt to torque them. Sorry I do not have a torque table but most any good parts store should know the torque for any given bolt size

If it is like an H or an M the bolts are shouldered so as to pinch the flex joint, but nut bottoms out preventing over compression of material.

Those bolts are tapered and you need to check the plate to see that the holes arent worn 35 on the tourque wrench will be just fine.
