544 High Speed 52 tooth vs Low speed 57 tooth Rev/1st Gear?

Help guys( 52 tooth 7-3/4" tooth vs 57 tooth 8-3/8" Reverse/1st Gear)
I have a IH 544 RC that I have been doing a complete rebuild on, the rear end had a whine, found that the Main gear shaft bearings were bad, Finally located those also discovered that the reverse/1st gear had 8 teeth that were messed up, found a good used gear,the problem was when we removed the old one it was "reverse/1st gear for IH 544 RC (52 tooth- 7-3/4 Dia.) Part # 397-002-R1"
IH does not stock this gear any longer, anyone know where I can locate one, what tractors may also have this gear?

Where are you located Jay? I have a 544 with no engine and i think i will be parting it out. Its a farmall 544 in good shape except the engine. Im in Ontario you can email me if your interested. Thanks Erik..
 
When do you think you will have the gear out?
This is the only part holding me up.

Once again it needs to be a 52 tooth (which is the high speed gear) not the 57 tooth slow speed.
 
Well im not sure on the TA because i bought it with no engine. They said the ta should work because the only reason the tractor was in the shop was because of the engine and the owner didnt want to spend 7 grand to rebuild the engine. So i bought it.
 
If you get the TA out and it looks ok let me know what you want for it (I assume that you"ll get to it eventually if you are parting out the machine). My email is jhasler at newsguy dot com.
 
Erik, I am in Cent Wisconsin, when do you think you will be able to get to that gear? I need to get this tractor back,I use it with the 3 pt to feed out my round bales.
Please remember it needs to be a 52 tooth.
I have a like new 57 tooth on the shelf.

Apparently the 52 tooth rev/1st gear is as rare as hens teeth..as long as I cannot find one and have a good 57 tooth on the shelf, we will just convert it to a 57. Does anyone know if I need anything other than the 2 matching gears to convert? Anyone have these gears (used) they would care to sell?
