motor numbers

I purchased a Farmall A today with a c-135 engine in it. Could someone please interpret these motor block numbers for me they are in this order. leaving out the firing order.
c-135 120624/this # is on the smooth surfice

379170-R1 3-27-P

L

120624 is the engine serial, 379170 R1 is the block part number, 3*27*P means the block was cast on March 27 1969, provided that IH did not skip any letters. My guess is that the engine is out of a 140, not sure any other tractors used that engine that late.

What does the L stand for? When I was trying to run the numbers down the chart I was looking at said it stood for 1965. The man that I bought it from Said the man that changed the motor said it came out of a cement mixer. Thanks for the help. Marc.

L probably means it was built in Louisville. I also had a lapse in memory--140's do not have 135's in them, but 123's. As to the year, if 1965, IH probably skipped some letters.
