cub clutch problem

I adjusted my clutch pedal so it disengages. now the throw out bearing holder touches clutch & makes a tick sound when clutch pedal is pushed all the way down. is there another adjustment on the clutchpressure plate? Also, someone please explain to me the graphite throw out bearing?I read it doesn't turn. Thanks in advance!!

You read it right that the Graphite throw out bearing does not turn. It is very important to have this clutch adjusted correctly. You need 1/8 inch clearance between the pressure plate fingers and the throw out bearing. All fingers have to be adjusted exactly the same distance or it will tear up the graphite very quickly. The clutch of a cub is not a bad set up but needs to be kept in adjustment.

MtMan got here first, here is a bit more info:

Correct, the graphite doesn't turn. There is a grease fitting on the bottom of the TOB retainer that you grease, and the graphite absorbs the oils in the grease to lubricate the face of the TOB. Sounds crazy, but it works.

All the pressure plate fingers must be adjusted to 1 1/4". Then the pedal free play must be adjusted to 1". There also must be enough graphite protruding from the retainer so the retainer doesn't hit the pressure plate. If you continue to operate it this way, it will cause damage and a lot of time and money to fix.
