does anyone know if they ever made 10 bolt hubs that fit an IH 1466 axles? I have a good set of 18.4 38"s on ten bolt rims off of JD 4630 that i would like to use on the 1466 and need a set of hubs for 1466. A friend of mines dad has ran IH"s all his life and he has a set of tee rail duals that need tires that he said would sell me. Said he used them on his 1066 and 1466 with no problems pulling tillage equipment and turned up over 200hp. After seeing posts on here about wheel centers craking with clamp on style duals I"m a little leary of getting them. and would rather have axle hubs but really don"t want to buy rims on top of hubs too.

Unverferth makes hubs but haven"t been able to find out if they make them to fit the 66 series axles and would match the rims I have. Any Idea what hubs would cost.

Sorry for the winded post thanks for any answers

In all the direct mount hubs i have had pass thru my grubby paws i have never seen anything but nine bolt . and as far as usen a Tee rail clamp on as long as they are wedge clamp i do not see a problem as long as you keep the dual air pressure lower then the main . On the old bolt clamp style if ya ran the duals at the same air pressure as the rear tractor tire then ya would be breaking clamp bolts first , just ask a friend of mine on how many he breaks a year as he will not listen as he is hard headed and likes to waist money.

A 1466 should have a 3 1/2" axle. Ten bolt hubs Are out there for this tractor. I have found a few sets but I"m looking for ten bolt hubs for a 1066. Good luck

I have used clamp on on my 1256 foor 13 years.Never had a problem.

IH made 10 bolt also. I think the 5088, 5288 and 5488 all used 10 bolt and late 1486 and 1586 came out with 10 bolt. Need a set call 270-247-2219. Ask for Steve

I need to correct myself on the 50 series. Most 5088's came out with 9 bolt. The 52 and 5488's used mostly 10 bolt. I have seen several 1486's and 1586's with 10 bolt.

I was just sayen that after over twenty years of fixen and jockying tractors and iron i have never seen a set of ten bolt hubs for them . Now not sayen that they NEVER made a set i just have not seen any .

I think 4386 had 9 & 10 bolt hubs, they had rim bending problems & went to heavier rims with 10 bolt but also they had 3-1/4 axles on early then 4" on later.

We have a set of duals I believe that were for a 4386 on our 1086. The centers are quite a bit heavier than the nine bolt duals we had on the 1066 we used to have but I'm not sure how many bolts. They are big bolts as well inch I believe, they take a 1 5/16" socket.
