Maybe I missed it...more muffler questions

The new Stainless mufflers that are being offered by Bermuda Ken. Is it a straight through design or is it chambered? The current Stanley that I have gets real old to listen to, it has a sharp sound (and leaks at every seam).

I watched the videos, but can't tell what the sound is by them.

I am intrigued by the stainless, but want more muffler too. Thanks for your input.

It is the factory design in stainless. From what I have read on the internets it is the quietest muffler ever.

I have never found the straight thru ones to be offensive as to being LOUD on a M or even a 450. Now a straight pipe yea they can get a little loud. Now what is offensive ar Motor cycles hotrod diesel pick ups with five inch stacks and NO mufflers and any 2 cy. Detroit diesel with out a muffler and the big rigs running with out mufflers and coming past the house with the jake on all three stages of it at three in the morning . someday you will read about me over this .

I am with you as far as all the other needless noise....I even drive a Western Star with a 14.6 liter Cat. I haul fuel and have two VERY LARGE mufflers! :) I also find the 8 inch stacks and no mufflers offensive. Just a hey look at me thing. My deal with the M is under a long steady load ie running down the road with a wagon or trailer the M talks through the Stanley very sharply. I just prefer quiet over loud. :)

All letter series and number series through the 450 are straight through, I have ones for the ABC, H, and M. The factory ones were straight through. I imagine the 460/560 are also, but I know nothing about those. As far as quiet, as compared to what? I drove an H as teenager. When I got off at lunch or at the end of the day my ears were numb. I am now at least 2/3rds deaf. Quieter than a straight pipe, definitely. Compared to the other current IH mufflers, about the same. But they have the very distinct, staccato sound that I remember from the 50's, which is the reason for buying them.

I have the stainless. It's sharp and a lot quieter then my stanley. Now my stanley is older too and wasn't in great shape. But man i can tell a difference. Heres a pic of my SM with the stainless muffler.

I have the REGULAR painted steel muffler from C&G On My Super M.It has a way more "muted" tone to it than the old Stanley I just took off.(Stanley has way more "racket" going on.)The audio quality of the video is a BAD representation.

Make sure your pipe off of your manifold is sealed well at the maifold and the muffler, otherwise the BEST muffler in the world wont make a difference. ;)

All of the M-450 mufflers will be straight thru.I believe the H-350 mufflers will be baffled/chambered and NOT straight thru??(I do not know for sure.)

As I said below ALL the letter series and numbers thru the 450 do not have baffles, that is 3 mufflers (not including the Cub). I received all three last week.
