I just got some rods apparently out of a 308 6cyl IH truck engine. I guess it is a stroked version of the older 282. Did they use the same rods? If not, might you know how long the 282 rods are? I'd like to find some more and was told you might have some knowledge on the subject. Were these diamond engines? Thanks.

I believe they were Black Diamond engines. I have one that is a power unit. Has BD 308 stamped on it.

I doubt if the rods are the same from a 282 and a 308 but I do know they are two different families of engines. The 282 did evolve from a black diamond family as did the 308 but still totally different. Used to work on a few 308 gas burners in med trucks and a lot of 220 240 and 264 in smaller trucks and pickups. The 282 came from that smaller block.
