Well I got it last week but just got home from college to put it on. I think it looks pretty good. Also anyone know where to the the seamed beam light for the pancake style lights? I know there are two different styles of sealed beam. The one with the brass tab on the outside and the one with two screws on the fixture itself.

Nope. About 4 inches to tall. I take it off when backing it in. I will be building a new garage here in the next few months and it'll have a 14 foot tall roof so plenty of clearance there.

On your headlights, you are better off to use the newer bulbs with the two screw tabs on them in the pancake housings. It is ALOT cheaper to do it this way.

There was an article showing how to modify the bulbs/housing to accept the newer bulbs. This is the way I am doing mine.

If I can find it again on the Cub websight,I will send it to you.

Super M with the CnG muffler... That's got to be you on youtube.

Post links to those videos you made so people can hear the difference.

Mine sound great. It has it's own unique sound like I have never heard before.

To below post, yes I did the Youtube post over on RPM sight. The audio is NOT NEARLY as good a being there live though.

I will post on here tonight when I get home.(Cannot do it from here.)Unless someone else wants to grab my videos from Youtube and stick em on here??? (They are under boruff68 on youtube)

Not criticizing anyone. But its funny how we are all different. I'm guilty doing things that don't make sense. What i'm getting at is that it makes me wonder when I see a post about the lights, why someone would want to spend money on a costly original looking muffler then put a light that doesn't look right. When looked at from the rear its plain as day on a restored tractor that they don't look right. If the tractors belongs to you do what you want. Have no problem with that. Just makes me wonder the way we think sometimes.
I bought 2 of the mufflers and have some cheap lights also.

If I recognize the shape of the box, pretty sure mine is wrapped and sitting under our Christmas tree right now. Second guessing myself, wondering if I should have requested the aluminized instead of the stainless steel. The aluminized would be pretty much close to original grey color? Wasn"t sure of the aluminizing technique, didn"t want to get one and have it start rusting.

Dave, I think about the lights alot and can't even tell you the last time I needed them to work late into the early evening. Maybe because age has caught up with me by now. I used to do more plowing and dirt work at night then in daytime due to it being cool and needed good working lights then for sure. Now I generally turn them on just to see if they still work or when driving on public roads. There is certainly a lot of threads about lights and what is better and more functional but really doubt they are used for their intended purpose that much, Hal.

In the grand scheme of things, the mufflers aren't all that costly compared to the bulbs.

You can wreck a $42 bulb just putting it in the housing. It takes a pretty concerted effort to wreck a muffler.

You can pretty much figure a muffler is going to last, and the less you use the muffler, the longer it will last. Not so much with the bulbs.

You also *USE* the muffler every time the tractor runs, whereas you almost never use the lights. Makes it harder to justify the expense.

You have to be a LOT closer to the tractor to notice the lights are wrong than the muffler...

Use my toll FREE number....866-FARMALL (327-6255).

I have the A-B-C, H-350, and M-450 mufflers here in stock. I have aluminized (silver) finish and highly polished Stainless steel verisons of all of these made.

The 560-660's are due here in January. Stainless clamps and raincaps are in the works too!

I think you will be happy with the stainless steel as the other one loses it's initial finish. I bought some of those that Mark Wood (he seems to have disappeared from the IH world) used to sell that had the ceramic coating and didn't have the real polished shinny look of those from CNG. His didn't have the IH logo but just the part no. I'm probably going to get a stainless one for the Farmall 240 I'm restoring as nicely finished tractors don't really look like real tractors anyway.
A tip to keep your muffler looking really nice when trailering it to a show or elsewhere get an old pair of panty hose from the wife and cut-out the legs to slip over the muffler. It will keep all the bug splatters off the muffler as that bug stuff you will find is difficult to remove, Hal.

With ALL due respect Mr Slater.I think the reason every one is talking about them is LESS about the original "look" and mostly about the original SOUND!!! :) it is so much better than the Stanleys out there right now.

My tractor is F A R from being a restore.(One day I will totally "spit shine" it! ) Right now I use it to work with. I am collecting all parts right now to do so.

Don't fault you or anyone for doing a tractor to please yourself.
Was just thinking how us posters have different thoughts opinions on the way to do things.
from the pictures, I think your tractor looks pretty good.
Bought a H and a M muffler to try the sound. Got the plain ones because I thought the stainless would be to bright for my tastes, but having second thoughts on the lasting part and maybe wishing for one stainless. Probably to late to ask santa.
