Spliting a 706

I have a oil leak I believe to be on the front of the transmission behind the clutch. I"m sure its hydraulic oil not motor oil. Anyway, I"m almost ready to split it and I"m wondering if anybody could tell me if there are anythings to look for while I have it apart.
Thanks.

Your problem is more then likely the IDPTO sdealls and the PTo input and now are you ready for this , Ya may need a new clutch and pressure plate . It the splines on the PTo input are worn the hub on the pressure plate is also worn and this causes the shaft to wobble and take out the seals . so when ya replace the input shaft it is wise to also replace the bearing . When going back together i like to lock down the clutch fingers with small nuts to hold the pressure plate in the disengaged position then hang the pressure plate on the pto input then hang the disc on the transmission input shaft then slide it together , that way ya only have to get the inputshaft into the pilot bearing . Then ya bolt the clutch up to the flywheel from the inspection cover under the bell housing . And oh if your going to put a new clutch in it have the flywheel ground so everything is good .

Thanks for the info. I am going to try your way with the clutch when its time to put it back together. It might save alot of cursing!
