Cub Power Unit

I had a nieghbor give me a cub power unit today. It has the letter series style hood but it has the number series style screen grill. The motor also has a continental tag on the block. I don't know much about these and any information would be helpful.

Probably a Continental IY-69, has nothing to do with a Cub. Pictures?

First clue: which side of the block is the manifold on, and which side is the mag/distributor on?

I thought a Continental data tag riveted to the block was a pretty good first clue.

Its not a Cub engune. Like other post said its a Cont y-69. Im grinding the valves on one now. They had same sheet metal LIKE the A and Bs. They did use Cub engines sometimes but yours has the Cont plate so its the y-69
