broken spindle

I was loading rocks today with my 806 and broke the right side spindle off at the bottom. Its a schwartz made ft end. I can't read the tags on the axle anymore, bottom of the spindle has 560 stamped into it. Is this the wrong ft end for an 806 in the first place? Anybody know the part number I would need to replace what I have?

Rusty, Schwartz front end for a 560 is a little light for an 806 even without a loader. My advice would be take the spindle out and go to a welding shop. A good welder can weld the spindle good enough for you to get by until you can find a better front end. I don't know if a front from a 66 or 86 series tractor will fit, but it is heavier than even what came in an 806 and would be worth looking and measuring. None of the spindles in that vintage IH were made the way they should have been. The problem is that the steering arm to the spindle is made with a straight spline instead of tapered spline and will work loose and cannot be tightened; thus many have been welded onto the spindle. FWIW (for what it's worth)

darn, get the 6x6 blocks out and maker steady.
id take your pieces and model numbers to the garage side of the dealer and ask the wrenches. go ahead and get your measurements handy, they probably have one on the shelf, hi crop.
them ther duals are gonna take the front end where they want no matter.
good luck and sorry, been there repairing many times in the roadway ditches

I have the old girl backed into the shed now after sliding her home on the bucket. Doing some Schwartz parts research looks like 560 to 856 all used same front end & spindles, available on ebay not to terrible. The kingpin is broken off in the spindle tube under the support bearing flange, don't see a good way to weld it. Can see that it had been cracked & rusted in the crack for some time, just finished it off finally. Good time to check the other side also. Tie rods need adjusted anyway.
