1086 Hydrualics

Anybody know if a 1086 will run orbit motors? I am looking for a tractor to run a feed wagon and a bale processor. Just wondering if the open center system will operate everything fast enough without getting hot. Maybe some of you have experience running a vertical mixer with a 86 series?

Your really limited on the old system as stock they only made 12 GPM when they were in good shape , yes you can install a bigger GPM pump but the filter system was not designed for much more then 14 . Either Allied or Ag Parts had a add on filter extension where you mounted a extra housing where the org. filter was and ya stacked two filters on top of each other. and it stuck way out the side of the tractor . Myself i did not care for it as all i could see is it getting knocked off with the way guys treat there tractors around here . Does it work , Don't know and i ain't ah going to say one way or other.

The later 1086 had the closed system. We had a orbit motor on a augur that we powerd with a 1066 with no proplem.

we have a 186 hydro which has the same open center hyd system as your 1086 and we ran a bale processor with it for the last few winters without a problem. had it on the mixer wagon once in a while and it had no problem with the unload conveyor. I used it on a haybuster rockpicker with the hyd rock rake and it worked fine there but you had to stop the rake to raise it up as the oil went to the easy spot and that was the rake orbit motor.

We ran an orbital motor on a grain auger with our 806 for years. No problem at all. Used it to both fill the bin while drying and then put the orbital motor on the bin unloading auger to empty the bin.

No longer than you will run a motor at one time on those impliments it will be fine.

I run a hydraulic orbital spray pump on my sprayer. In June when it is 90 degrees out that pump may run 8 hours in one day. Two hours to spray one load. It would be off for 30 minutes to refill and them another 2 hours of run time.

Besides the tractor moving at 8 MPH to warm that oil in the rearend.

How many loads will you do at a time? If your only gonna run 30 minutes or so then give it a rest,I think you will be fine.

The 86 series with the open center system aren't really intended to run motors. The primary issue is during continuous motor use the oil routing is different then the 06-66 series tractors, the mcv pump charge circuit is starved of oil when a continuous demand is placed on the remotes. For non continuous use on a feed wagon or bale processor conveyor when feeding you should be fine but continuous use such as a planter vac motor or sprayer pump there is a way to make it work. Ace made a kit for using a hydraulic spray pump on these tractors without using the remotes(power beyond). The installation guide shows where to plumb a motor return to eliminate this problem.
