140 overcharging, from previous posting by B Hooper

Back on 11-27 Billy Hooper had a post about a 140 overcharging, and a question about the resistor on the back of the alternator. My tractor was built after his, and the resistor for the ignition coil is bolted to the alternator. Mine also had a ground wire at the same bolt that went into the harness - the other end of the ground wire went to the left side of the engine near the carb. If the resistor bolt (and ground wire) was loose the voltage would go up-down with engine rpm.

His did not have a ground wire in the pic.
