Today they are very accurate and stay within .5 mph generally. a governor is dependent on the slowing of the engine to open the throttle. if it does not slow, it does not open. So a given amount of bogging is the nature of the beast. When the tractor engine reaches its peak torque/HP design value, the throttle will be wide open, and the PTO will be at rated RPM. That can be between 500 and 1200 RPM difference in engine speed. Technically it is not bogging until it is being operated at Wide open throttle and is being loaded below its rated RM. Bogging in this sense is not good for the engine, not productive. So if the RPM on yours is above the rated HP setting on the hill, or even at that RPM, it is not bogging. I hope this makes sense. Second does the input lever have a lot of "wobble" it can be rebushed so the gov can do its job better and theres probably a lot of play where the spring hooks on the inside of the gov. Little play here and some there soon the gov and throttle response doesent work good. [Reply]  [No Email]
