Implements: original, homemade or otherwise....

Since I started getting into tractors about ten years ago I
have seen some interesting conversions and uses for
tractors outside of normal farm related chores. What have
you guys seen or done to your tractors that you would like to
share? I know there are some rare oddball implements out
there and its fun to see them....

One of the things that I have done is adding a 3/8 plate steel about 22-24" long on both sides of my grader blades to effectively mimick a Box Scraper. Bolted on with three 1/2" bolts, they are easily removed when ditching and angle work is in order. I have long gravel lanes and I now have one at each farm. Old one is 8' new one is only 7'. Will forward photos soon.

We were preparing to make Home made custard ice creamnwith our wooden bucket hand cranked freezer. We needed Chipped ice and dad took the IH350U with the snow plow and chains out into the field at a frozen puddle and spun the tire making beautiful ice in 10 seconds.
The application was sure unique. The Snow plow was entirly fabricated by my dad and his friend. It has two 4" tube running under the front axle to the rear Fast hitch. The blade has 2/3 1/3 offset V to the right. Pushing down on the hitch control lifted the blade about 15 inches.

Hey deltarod,
what the heck is the yellow tractor looking thing with the suitcase weights on the front? Looks like even the frame was homemade.

This is my 55 Farmall Cub With four hydraulic remote cylinders installed. The rear fast hitch is now indepentant of other lift functions, as is the front blade, which has hyd. angle, and the center mount, homemade 6' blade also has hyd. angle. The original TC unit on the cub contols only the center mount blade. One pic shows the fast-hitch 5KW generator/altenator in which I fabricated the fast-hitch spike and the belt drive off the right angle pulley.

Joshua, the "yellow thing" is a reversed F-12.It was repowered with a 4cyl Jeep, the frame was 'beefed'up.Long story short...My FIL purchaced it new in '37.Shortly after WW2,the engine was ruined beyond repair,it was then repowered and used on a hi-altitude cattle ranch till the early '80s.Late '80s we retrieved it and 'reserected' it."bout 7 years ago,I reversed it and added the loader."Ingredients' consisted of mostly scrap and a $25.00 loader. We use it almost daily as a 'shop mule'.

Daniel,
When I find an old cheap 6 ft grader blade I plan to attach it to my 6 ft woods belly mower. Currently I use a 2x6 board in front of the mower, remove the front wheels from mover and it's the perfect leveler for loose dirt.

Some may think I will damage the mower. They just don't know how strong the deck really is. Once I ran in to a tree, tractor stopped, no damage to mower.

I dont have pics of everything I have built, and alot of this stuff I sold when I sold my oliver and got rid of all my cat 1 equipment. I built the log grapple because I couldnt find one being made. It was pretty handy for removing small stumps and trees. I made a three foot bucket for our backhoe to install 30 inch infiltrator fill lines. Been building stuff out of neccessity for years. Gettin everything together to build another loader bucket for my farmhand loader right now. I built the rear mounted loader before I had a loader tractor it was a pain in the neck (literally) lol. I built the rigid cultivator with a hitch to be a little safer when pulling a hay trailer and parking on hills.
