I was wondering if Lucas is really as good as people say? If so how much should I put in my trans of my Super c along with 85-140 gear oil? I'm from Mi and wouldn't be using the tractor in the winter

None save your money and just fill with new tranny 90-140 and it will outlast you. Its already 60 pluss yrs old now and good enough for another 60 after all you dont work it hard 10 hrs a day.

might want to put in the house to warm it up a little it pours very slow when its cold and it pour out like honey and just about as sticky

there is alot of "snake oil" out on the market. However, Lucas is a decent product for what it advertises as. On new engines or tranny rebuilds, I see no use for it. However, on older worn engines or tranny's, it does help. I use 1 quart per oil change. there is at least a 15% -20% difference in the oil pressure at warm idle with Lucas vs. without it.

I am not a fan of alot of the products out there, but Lucas is a decent one. Of all the different products, there are 4 that I like. Lucas products for oil additives. Kroil and Blaster for penetrating oil. Rislone for cleaning out sludged up engines.

All other products I am not impressed with. Some here will say that my preferred products are "snake oil" and that is fine, as each person is entitled to their preferences and opinions............this is my opinion.

Why such heavy gear oil. As I recall as a kid we never put anything in except 80-90 and disk and plowed all day in the hot summer sun. If you think you have to add something to oil to make it better maybe you don't trust your oil to be any good. Oil today is a lot better and the series of tractors ahead of them went to hydualic oils in the tranny and rearend. Lighter yet.

I don't know that you need it in there, but Lucas is every bit as good as they say. I had a bus that couldn't build enough pressure in the trans to shift out of first. I put a bunch in there and it worked beautifully for 10k miles. I finally replaced it because I knew it would go eventually.

I swear by their stuff. If it makes you feel good put it in there.

It will help a little with noise. Once the Lucas gets mixed with the gear oil it helps carry the oil on the gears better than straight gear oil.

It has been sold in Semi truck dealerships for decades, it's a good product and has a demonstration box with a hand crank at any major dealer, try it for yourself & make up your own mind.
One of the few companies today that stand behind their products. Most people that use it swear by it, those that don't usually are the ones that call it snake oil.

Before you buy any check the US Department of Commerce, see just how many complaints have been filed against Lucas and the other snake oil companies. They always settle out of court and pay fines without going to court to avoid the publicity a court case would give them.
