Lowboy generator

I believe they were all 12v. However there were three setups. One used the generator for chat=rging the battery, and starting the tractor (starter motor) the second had both a starter motor and generator separate from one another. The third used an alternator, and a regular starter motor. Jim

I hate to correct poeple, but....
Cub Lowboys were both 6v and 12v. It's the cub cadets that we all 12v and used the starter/generator.

A cub lowboy was basically a lowered cub tractor; it had a small four cylinder c60 engine. They had a separate starter and generator. I know, as I have a 1958 lowboy.

The Cub cadet came out in 1962 and used a Kohler single cylinder engine; the starter generator was set up on this engine. I knwo this as I have a 1962 Cub cadet.

Just reporting IH data. CaseIH.com Cub lowboy parts listing was the source of my data (on line). Tractors shown were real Cub based tractors, not Cadets. The listing was clear. No 6v descriptions were given for Lowboys, but were for regular height Cubs from early years. Jim

Early loboys were 6 volt I have a 55 and a 63 both 6 volt pos grd separate Starter and generator. 154 and 185 were 12 volt with combined starter/generator. 184 12 volt with separate starter and gen.
