I just came into possession of a log splitter with a blown 11 horse B&S motor. I was thinking of using my H to operate it, but wanted to get some opinions on the best option. Option 1 is to use the belly pump on the H with some longer hoses. But I'm not sure if my pump even works. And if it does, does it have sufficient volume and preasure to split knotty white oak. Option 2 is to operate the splitter's pump with a V-belt and pullys I can get at the local farm & home store. I figure about a 1:6 or 1:7 step up ratio would be needed to to math the PTO RPM to what the B&S ran.
Any and all opinions are welcome.
