If by white side trim you mean the side panels, they seem to be missing on a lot of them. They are missing from my 240U and I have only seen them on a very few tractors. I don't know if the 340 is the same panel or not. Also, 36" tires are hard to find and expensive compared to the more common 38", and I imagine rims are scarce too.
I think $ 1500 to 1750 would be a fair price for one in that condition, but I'd try to locate a rim and tire first to see what you will have in it to just drive it... may not be worth that much.[/quote]
The engine side panels are not the same as the 340. They are longer on the 240. They were being reproduced by a fellow in Indiana, but he got out of the business. I`m thinking Bates sells the repro`s now- pricey @ $100 a side, and that was a few years ago. The rims themselves aren`t scarce at all. The same rims as what is on a C,Super C,200,230 and 404. They are also available new. Titan and Firestone make 36" tires yet, used 36" tires are harder to find. Like Jim said, tires are a major factor in tractor values nowadays. Good Farmall 240`s are hard to find and without seeing a picture , giving a value is kind of a shot in the dark without knowing how complete it is as some parts are very hard finds. |
