301 into 560?

A friend has a 560 gas that recently locked the motor up for
no apparent reason and he wants me to tear it down and
rebuild it. However i happened across a 301 gas in a 715
combine low hours runs good and im wondering how hard of
a swap it would be and if it would be worth it. Im not an IH
tractor guy so any info would be appreciated. Thanks in
advance

If I recall it isn't real hard but is far from a bolt and go deal. There are a lot of little things that add up to a lot of screwing around. If it were me I would rebuild the 263 or maybe even bump it up to a 291. You will have more money invested but at least you'll know what you have when you are done.

I have done two swaps with 301 out of combines.Not a bad project at all.Use the front crankcase cover ,pan off the tractor and rear motor plate, flywheel and clutch.Also swap the tractor oil filter base that bolts to the block.You will pick up more power.

301 into 560?
