Live hydraulics

I assume that live hydraulics (M) use the same oil/fluid as the
belly pump. On my other M I used 30 wt oil for the loader. Now
I am putting the loader on the new M and don't know what has
been used in the live pump. Is there any harm in 30 wt oil in
those? It is thicker but I may avoid some seeping leaks that
way. I'm willing to deal with it a little slower if it keeps
something from oozing in a month.

Not sure what's in there now, but after replacing the seals on
the loader I will have to add some no doubt.

Been useing the same hi tran(equivalent) in my SM as I use in my 06/56 series tractors for 30 years.

Most hydraulic fluids are closer in viscosity to 10W. Might not be good in a cold climate to use 30W. Pump could cavitate until it warms up... not good for the pump over a long time.

You can get the equivalent of SAE 20 hyd oil or even 10W30 if you look around some. I would just use 30 wt engine oil if it is not shared with other tractors. If the temp bothers you use the 20 wt SAE equivalent or 20 engine oil.

I use the same hydraulic fluid in all my tractors, so that I do not cross contaminate by using different equipment on different tractors.
