When the water pump went out on my 404 this summer, the governor spring broke on the same day. Talk about coincidence! I ordered the spring through the local International dealer, Collie Equip in Danville va. When I put it all back together, the motor surged. I have adjusted it to death, and at this point the tractor is inoperable. While it cranks and idles fine, even revs while in neutral, the surging is so bad I cannot use the tractor. I have had a lot of problems in the past getting parts for this tractor. They never could get me the right oil filter element. I hope the spring is correct. Any idea what I did wrong? I hate to pull the governor back apart, if it is an adjustment issue. Thank you in advance for your help. Randy D.
