Hydro 86 To Gear Drive

How difficult and expensive would it be to convert a 1976 IH Hydro 86 to Gear Drive as is found in a 686 (or earlier 666, 656, 544) ? This is assuming I can get a decent Transmission / Clutch set-up from a Tractor salvage yard.

Any advice will be appreciated !

he realistic way to do it is to find the entire tractor that has a bad engine and swap engines. To even think about components would flatten your wallet to vapor. WHEREAS a blown engine in a tractor is going to be far less difficulty, and far more likely to succeed. Jim

Very expensive and difficult. Lot of hydraulic components are different along with the clutch & TA housing. Transmission shafts and gears. Not sure of the pinion but differential is turned around to opposite side. Total shifting mechanism. Lots of work. Lots of parts.
